Karim Rashid Heats Things Up For Caleido With His New Radiator Designs.

I simply cannot get over how rich the area of industrial design is when it comes to radiators. This is my fourth post on radiators and I simply keep finding more and more ones that I want to blog about.

Karim Rashid (who coincidentally curated an exhibit on design radiators at the MAD Museum in 2009) has now created his own for Caleido in his unmistakable style.

The new models, Kelvin (also referred to as Geiger) and Therme, designed by Rashid are wall-mountable and feature his graphic and vibrant imagery on steel plates.

Wonderful Ways To Warm Up With Wood: New Radiators By I-radium

It's so peculiar how many radiators, wall mounted or free standing, and warming towel racks are beautifully designed. As a Southern Californian I don't get the opportunity to shop for radiators, but lord knows, if I needed one, there are tons of beautifully designed ones worth considering.

i•radium of Italy has a series of wood radiators designed by both Enzo Berti and Marco Piva. Available in various woods from Maple to Zebra wood, these combine modern design with organic materials making them suited for almost any home.

The latest design to join the collection is the Bag radiator, a freestanding design with a built in handle for mobility.

Caleido's Newest Rockin' Wall Radiators; The Metacrilati Collection

Caleido has introduced the new Metacrilati version in their Fine Design range of radiators. Consisting of four different models available in a slew of colors; Flora, Scuba, Wall and Rain – the innovative radiators designed by James di Marco are characterized by an unusual methacrylate-on-steel combination.

Besides the new material, Caleido incorporates a new concept - a decorative and functional element all in one. The perforated plates in methacrylate radiators provide numerous points for hanging towels and bathrobes.

I've written about the plethora of unusual looking radiators and heated towel racks before..... however a bunch of new ones have emerged on the market, several introduced at recent design shows. It amazes me how the designs continue to get even more unusual and yet still remain functional.

There are so many wonderful examples of all types of different looking water heated radiators, electric radiators, wall mounted radiators, freestanding radiators, even towel racks, that I could only share with you some of my favorites. And here they are:
